The Troopers defeated Team Maryland 18-8 on Sunday thanks in part
to Yadriel Mateo, who drove in four runs. Mateo drove in the runs on a home run in the first and a single in the third inning.
The Elmora Team representing New Jersey grabbed an early lead. The
Troopers scored on an error , a home run by Mateo, a single by Josiah Sharpe, another error, a single by Jayden Rosado, and a triple by Emmanuel Nunez in the first inning.
Team Maryland took the early lead in the first inning. A wild pitch scored one run for the team.
Mateo homer was a 3 RBI, Sharpe singled off of David Harkins, driving in one
run, there was an error, scoring two runs, Sharpe singled off of Harkins, driving in one run, and Nunez tripled, driving in three runs.
Maryland scored four runs in the third inning. The big inning was driven by a double,
a double by Chase Shepherd, a single, and a groundout by Fox Burch.
The Troopers had 13 hits in the game. Mateo, Jayden Capindica, and Rosado each collected multiple hits for Team NJ
