Elmora Youth Little League is a nonprofit organization based in Elizabeth, New Jersey and a chartered member of the Little League Organization of Williamsport, Pa.  The league organizes recreation baseball and softball for the youth of the Elmora/Elizabeth area.  The league is staffed by volunteer parents.  EYL forms travel baseball and softball teams that participate in local summer tournaments. 
Summer team participants are selected from registered participants in the Spring season.

Team New Jersey Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Team New York  
 

The Elmora Youth Little League Troopers representing their State of NJ faced off for the 1st Regional game in League history.  The Troopers and Team New York played a taut affair on Saturday, but the Troopers eventually prevailed 10-9 after taking the lead for good in the third inning. Team New Jersey trailed 9-8 in the bottom of the third inning when there was an error, scoring two runs.

The Troopers built a five-run lead in the first inning and then held off Team NY's charge. Team NY scored seven runs in the failed comeback on a single by Joseph Raimonda in the second, a walk by Christian Sarcona in the second, a walk in the third, a error in the third, a error in the third, a error in the third, and a single by Michael Triano in the third.

Team NY captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Team NY.
Team NJ took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning.

Yadriel Mateo earned the win for Team NJ. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, and striking out two. Raimonda took the loss for Team NY. He tossed three innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, and striking out two.

Derek Escobar started the game for Team NJ. He tossed two innings, allowing five runs, four hits, and striking out one. Thomas Velardi started the game for Team NY. He went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering six runs, two hits, and striking out one. 

Team NJ collected eight hits. Salvador Garcia and Louis Aponte Jr. each collected multiple hits for Team NJ. Aponte Jr. and Garcia each managed two hits to lead Team NJ.

Ty Mainolfi went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Team NY in hits.
