D7BB10_Champs_720

Devin Rojas hit 2 HRs and Jayson Labrador had one to power the Super Tens to the District Title.

The 9-10 Elmora Troopers continued to ride the wave of momentum all the way to a District 7 title. Lead by Devin Rojas who put Elmora on the board early with a 2-run moon shot which measured over 240ft. Roberto Clemente cut the lead in half after stealing home on the bottom half of the inning. The Troopers answered back emphatically with back to back Home Runs from Jayson Labrador and Devin Rojas putting them in the lead for good. Devin was the winning Pitcher tossing 4 innings allowing 2 runs and Jayson closed out the game pitching the last 2 innings for the save.

This is the second year in a row the Troopers battled back after being in the loser's bracket. Congratulations to the coaches Jose Rojas, Danny Colon and Miguel Rivera. Congratulations to the players for their gutsy performance throughout the district 7 championship series.  Click here for more photos.

The 9-10 Troopers are heading to the "Winner Take All" game.

Cras520

Alex Cras hit the 3-run Bomb to put the team up in the 6th inning.  In the 8th, Alex stole home to put the Troopers up by a run and help open the floodgates for 5 more runs.

An exciting game with lead change after lead change, the Troopers came on strong in the 8th inning to force a "Winner Take All" showdown on Wednesday.    The Troopers were down to their last 2 outs and down by a run.  Alex Cras hits a 3-run bomb!  It wasn't over as their opponent fought back and tied the game in the bottom of the 6th inning.  The Trooper defense stopped the winning run at home plate with a perfect relay from OF Reymundo Gonalez to SS Devin Rojas to Catcher JR  Rosado.

In extra innings, the Troopers take the lead in the 7th but the gritty Jersey City team comes back again and ties it.  The game continues into the 8th inning and then the Trooper hit parade begins.   Alex Cras stole home to put the team up.  The Troopers eventually scored 6 more runs to take a 14 to 7 lead.  Roberto Clemente LL came back with a couple of runs but reliever Jayson Labrador was able to end the rally for a Trooper win.  Sal Garcia Jr. picked up the win with 4 solid innings in relief of starter Adrian Rodriguez.  Adrian put up a solid performance against a very good hitting team.  He was removed from the game when he hit the Little League pitch count limit.

The final "Winner Take All" game is Wednesday at 7:00 PM in Bayonne.  200 W. First Street.  Let's Go Troopers!

Sal Garcia pitches a Gem to keep the 9-10 Troopers Alive in Districts

Garcia520

After two district games, the 9-10 Troopers pitching staff was depleted and the team needed a big effort to stay alive in the Little League districts.  Nine year old Sal Garcia answered the call with a pitching gem.  He pitched 4 1/3 innings of no-hit, shutout ball with 10 strikeouts and 3 walks.  In the leadoff position, he led the offense with 4 runs scored and 4 stolen bases.  The Team won this important district game by a 12 to zero margin.  Miguel Rivera closed out the game with 2/3 of inning of solid relief.  Jason Labrador has two doubles and 5 RBIs.    Adrian Rodriguez had a double and single to power the Trooper offense.  The next game is July 5.  Go Troopers!
