EYLL Troopers All-Stars Take Lead In the 8th Inning For Victory Over Somerset Hills Mountaineers

EYLL Trooper Yadriel Mateo took the mound in the 5th inning with the game tied 6 to 6. He  shut down the Mountaineers to trigger the Elmora victory in the NJ State LL tournament.  "Yadie" hit a 3r HR bomb in the top of 8th to put an exclamation point on  the victory.

In an intense extra inning game that saw the EYLL Troopers run off the field in the 8th inning with an 11 to 6 lead.  The teams battled to a 6-6 tie at the end of regulation in the 6th inning game.  Devin Rojas hit a 2 run double on a 1-1 count to put the Troopers ahead to break the tie.

The Somerset Hills Mountaineers scored four runs in the fifth inning, but EYLL Troopers All-Stars still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Somerset Hills Mountaineers came thanks to a single by Charlie G and a home run by Jack D.  Somerset Hills Mountaineers knotted the game up at six in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Charlie singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Troopers fired up the offense in the first inning. They scored one run when Devin single.  Yadriel Mateo was credited with the victory for EYLL. He went three and a third innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out six.  His effort earned him the Game MVP honor.  Connor L took the loss for Somerset Hills Mountaineers. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out four.

Timmy C started the game for Somerset Hills Mountaineers. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out five.   Devin Rojas started the game for EYLL.  He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out eight.

The Troopers smacked one home run on the day as Yadriel went yard in the eighth inning with a bomb over the right field fence that hit the top of the Secaucus recreation center pavilion.  The Troopers racked up 12 hits in the game.  Devin, Yadriel, Danny Ciprian, and Jayden Rosado all collected multiple hits for EYLL.  Jayden, Danny, Yadriel, and Devin each collected two hits to lead their team.

Somerset Hills Mountaineer 12U totaled 12 hits. Liam B, Jack, and Timmy each had multiple hits for Somerset Hills Mountaineer 12U.
