Elmora Youth League is a nonprofit organization based in Elizabeth, New Jersey, The league organizes recreation baseball, softball and basketball for the youth of the Elmora/Elizabeth area. The league is staffed by volunteer parents. EYL forms travel baseball and softball teams that participate in local summer tournaments. Players are selected from registered participants in the Spring season.

Elmora Youth League Sweeps the 2009 Mayors Cup

Troopers take the long road to the championship. 
10s and 12s Win preliminary matches against NEYBL to setup showndown with E-Port.

In a classic extra inning battle between two determined teams, the EYL Troopers rallied for the tying run in the top of the sixth inning as Juan Carlos Ball scored on a single by Troy Carrington. Juan Carlos singled and scored in the top of the 8th to put the Troopers ahead 5 to 4. On the mound, Juan Carlos pitched the final four innings only allowing 1R, 5H and 8Ks with only 1 BB.

Chris Solano got things started for the Troopers with a 2R HR over the left field nets into Westfield Ave. Chris has RBI doubkles in the 3rd and 4th innings to drive the offense while the defense kept NEYBL off boards for the first three innings.
Isaiah led off the 4th with a HR for NEYBL as the team mounted a rally. EYL responded in the 5th a doubles by Omari Hurston and Adrian Cortico. In the sixth inning, Elliot Lopez added a solo HR ito cap the EYL scoring.

The Troopers overcame a 1st inning 2R HR by Shannon. Shannon kept the Troopers from scoring with a dominant effort in the first three innings. EYL got the scoring started in the 4th inning as Troy Carringtion tripled and scored as EYL executed a double steal on a David Cardona base on balls.
In the 5th inning, EYL tied the game on a RBI triple by Shemaryahu Shulman who later scored on a single by his twin brother Akiva. . Shemaryah held the E-Port All-Stars scoreless for the final two innings for the win. In the 6th inning, Akiva got E-Port Pitcher Shannon to hit a sky high fly ball to right fielder Carrington for the final out. Akiva struck out the final two batter to seal the Mayor's Cup Championship for EYL.

Kevin Campbell led off the game with a double and scored on a double by Brian Sagendorf. Chris Solano added his 2nd HR of the day to put the Troopers ahead 3 - 0 in the first inning.
In the 5th inning, Chris added his third HR of the day followed by a Elliot Lopez solo HR. The Troopers scored 5 runs and held E-Port to three runs in the bottom of the inning to hold a 10 run advantage that ended the game.
