January is our registration month. At that time we set the number of teams and we decide how many players we will place on each
team. There is too much setup work that cannot be postponed until a later date.
1. We need to recruit parents to volunteer and manage a team. The key person is the team manager, we get lots of volunteers for
assistant coach, but the Manager is critical to forming teams. Some parents think that our volunteers are paid; there are no paid staff members at the Elmora Youth Little League.
2. We need to order uniforms at least one month prior to opening day. We need to order 400 uniforms from our suppliers. We need to
place this order ASAP. We don't have the money to overbuy in case you register your child.
3. Once we form teams and order uniforms, we may have open slots that will be available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis.
We never leave open slots in Major League baseball for players league age 10 to 12.
4. The game schedule is based on the number of teams, we don't have the volunteer manpower to open another team and revise the schedules in March.
5. Registering late creates more work for the unpaid staff of the league. Do your part to help and register early next year.
