    2015 is our 42nd Season

Elmora Youth League is a nonprofit organization based in Elizabeth, New Jersey, The league organizes recreation baseball and softball for the youth of the Elmora/Elizabeth area. The league is staffed by volunteer parents. EYL forms travel baseball and softball teams that participate in local summer tournaments. Summer team participants are selected from registered participants in the Spring season.

The Fighting 10 year olds battle back to take 1st ever EYL 9-10 Softball Flag

The Super 12s had an Amazing 3 year Run in Districts with a 18-1 Record and three District Flags.

The amazing Girls 12U Thunder won the NJ Little League District Championship last night with an exciting 6-4 win over Roberto Clemente LL of Jersey City in 8 innings. The girls put together an outstanding team effort for the win. Sisters Aimee and Jocelyn Vega combined to pitch a 6 hitter with Jocelyn picking up the win when the girls rallied for 3 runs in the top of the 8th inning. 

Catcher Yaselin Gonzalez set the tone early in the game when she threw out two Roberto Clemente base runners in the 1st inning.  Ana Nazco got the Thunder on the board in the 2nd inning with a 2 RBI single that put the team on top early. 

Roberto Clemente rallied to tie the game in the 5th inning. After recording the first two out, the Jersey City team scored 2 runs when the third batter walked and their hitters hit back to back doubles to tie the game. A fly ball to Thunder CF Kaily Volker ended the rally and preserved the tie.

In the top of the 8th, SS Olivia Tirso led off with a single left field and advanced to second on a throwing error. Briana Manresa(1B) hit a RBI single to bring her home. Briana scored on a passed ball which proved to be the winning run. Katy Volker hit a RBI single to bring home another insurance run for the Thunder.

In the bottom of the 8th, Roberto Clemente rallied for a run but the Thunder stellar defense held as 2b Ana Nazco fielded a line drive for out #2 and P Jocelyn Vega fielded a grounder to start a 1-3 putout to 1b Briana. The win clinched the 1st ever EYL Softball District Championship. The team will receive the District Championship flag later in the week.

Offensive highlights for the Thunder include Molly Burke who went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a run scored. Briana Manressa was 2 for 4 with 2 runs and a RBI. Olivia Tirso when 2 for 3 with 2 runs scores. In addition to Yaselin's two throws in the 1st inning, the defense got solid efforts from CF Kaily Volker with 2 putouts and Ana Nazco had 3 playing second.
