2001 City Champions
 

The 2001 Mayors Cup 10 Year Old Champions are wearing Royal Blue and White this year.  Congratulations to the team for their outstanding victory over North Elizabeth on June 16.

EYL Defense: Vincent Nicastro pitched the first 3 innings and Michael Mason the final 3 innings for the Elmora 10s.  The boys and their outstanding defense kept NEYBL scoreless for the final five innings.

In our 3rd year of Little League affiliation, this group of ten-year-old baseball players were the team to start our march to Little League district flags and a 2019 trip to the LLWS for the league.  We won a Mayors Cup Tournament.

2001 10 Year Old MVP

Centerfielder Daniel DaCosta

Centerfielder Daniel DaCosta made "The Catch" that helped Elmora keep NEYBL off the scoreboard for the final 5 innings.  With boys on 2nd and 3rd, Daniel caught a sinking line drive in centerfield and made the quick throw to the infield that kept the runners from scoring.  Pitcher Michael Mason finished off the threat by striking out the next batter.
